Refunds & Cancellations
When you can get your money back, how long you have to ask, and what happens if we have to change or cancel an event.
Every ticket includes a refund window before your booked date. Meet the window and you’re covered โ miss it and, because our slots are capacity-limited, tickets are non-refundable except in the cases set out below.
- Most events are refundable up to 48 hours before your date โ some longer, a couple shorter. Check the table in Section 3.
- Cancel in writing before your window closes and you get a full refund to your original payment method.
- If we cancel your date (e.g. severe weather), you get a full refund, however close to the day.
- Early-bird and flash-sale tickets are non-refundable, and used add-ons can’t be refunded.

01 Which events this covers
1.1 This policy covers the 20 City Events sold directly through this website, which run daily from 20 October to 1 November 2026.
1.2 The 5 Theme Park Events (Thorpe Park, Alton Towers, Chessington, LEGOLAND Windsor and Drayton Manor) are run and sold by the theme park operators, not by us. Their refund policies are set entirely by the relevant park โ see Section 10.
02 Your cooling-off right
2.1 Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, tickets for leisure events supplied on a specific date are exempt from the standard 14-day “cooling-off” cancellation right. This is normal for dated event tickets.
2.2 In place of that, we offer our own refund windows below, which in most cases are more generous than the statutory minimum. This policy does not affect your legal rights if an event is faulty or materially different from what was advertised.
03 Cancelling your own booking
Each event has its own refund window before the event date, reflecting how far in advance we confirm final numbers with each venue. The current windows are also shown on each event’s page:
| Refund window | Applies to |
|---|---|
| Up to 24 hrs before โ fully refundable | Glasgow (Necropolis Trail), Cambridge (Round Church Walk) |
| 24 hours before | York (The Hangman’s Gate), Cardiff (Insole Court) |
| 48 hours before | London, Edinburgh, Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, Nottingham, Newcastle, Sheffield, Belfast, Oxford, Chester, Bath, Whitby |
| 72 hours before | Bristol (Redcliffe Caves) โ reflecting its longer 2-hour format |
| 7 days before | Brighton (Royal Pavilion Midnight Masquerade) โ reflecting its licensed nightlife format |
To qualify, your written cancellation request must reach us before the relevant window has passed. Requests made after the window has closed are not eligible for a refund, except where Section 5 or Section 6 applies.
04 How to request a refund
4.1 Email contact@halloweennightsfear.co.uk with your order reference, the event and date booked, and the name on the booking.
4.2 We’ll confirm receipt and let you know whether your request falls within the applicable window. If it does, we’ll process the refund as set out in Section 7.
05 Non-refundable tickets & extras
Some tickets and extras sit outside the standard windows above:
- Early Bird tickets (booked with the early-bird discount before 1 September 2026) are non-refundable.
- Last-Minute Flash Sale tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable, given the short-notice nature of the deal.
- Used optional add-ons โ for example whisky-tasting flights, tarot readings, photo packages or other extras bought on the day โ are non-refundable once used, and are not covered by the ticket windows above.
06 If we change or cancel an event
โ Weather & force majeure
Most events proceed in all reasonable weather. If we have to cancel your entire event date because of severe weather or another event outside our control, you’re entitled to a full refund, however close to the day it happens.
๐ Significant changes
If we cancel a date, or change an event so significantly that it’s materially different from what was advertised, we’ll offer you either a transfer to another date (subject to availability, at no extra cost) or a full refund.
โ Minor changes
Small changes to timings, performers or individual activities don’t entitle you to a refund. We’ll make reasonable efforts to let ticket holders know about any material change in advance.
6.1 Materially different event. If the event you attended was materially different from what was advertised, through no fault of your own, contact us within 14 working days of your visit and we’ll investigate and respond with an appropriate resolution, which may include a partial or full refund.
07 How & when refunds are paid
7.1 Approved refunds are processed within 14 working days of approval, to the original payment method used at checkout. “Working days” means Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays in England and Wales.
7.2 If you haven’t received an approved refund within 14 working days, contact us with your order reference and we’ll chase it up.
08 Group & private bookings
Group and private-slot bookings are subject to availability and may carry a different cancellation policy from standard tickets, because we hold capacity for your whole party. Any variation is stated in that event’s Booking Info section at the time of booking.
09 Transfers & resale
Tickets may not be resold above face value or transferred for commercial purposes. We may cancel, without refund, any ticket we identify as having been resold in breach of this rule. If you simply can’t attend, please use the refund process above rather than passing your ticket on.
10 Theme park events
Refunds and cancellations for the 5 Theme Park Events are handled entirely by the relevant theme park operator, under their own terms โ not by us. Always check the official park website for their current refund policy before booking with them.
