Drayton Manor, near Tamworth and within easy reach of Birmingham, marks its Halloween season with a family-friendly spooktacular built around a trick-or-treat trail, a haunted train ride, and — the standout addition in recent years — a genuinely spectacular end-of-day lake show combining water fountains, lighting, lasers, projections, and fire effects set to a Halloween score. With over 50 rides, a 15-acre zoo, and Thomas Land for younger children, it’s one of the more affordable and accessible big theme park Halloween days out in the Midlands.

Why you should book this

At the most affordable price point in this collection, Drayton Manor offers strong value for a family day combining a theme park, zoo, and Thomas Land in one ticket — plus a genuinely impressive lake show that rivals much bigger parks’ evening spectaculars. Its Tamworth location makes it one of the most convenient big theme park Halloween events for Midlands and Birmingham families.

What you’ll experience

  • Trick or Treat Trail — children collect treats from themed locations across the park, with a Halloween-themed kids’ trail and photo opportunities
  • The Haunted Express — a family-friendly ghost train journey through the park’s eeriest corners
  • Lake water, light & fire spectacular — an end-of-day show combining towering water fountains, lighting, lasers, projections, and fire effects, with smaller preview fountain shows earlier in the day
  • Fireworks nights — firework displays on selected dates, including opening and closing weekends
  • Thomas Land & the 15-acre zoo — included family attractions ideal for younger children

🚗 Getting there & parking

By car: on-site parking (a parking fee typically applies — check current rates). Allow 5–10 minutes to walk from the car park. By train: Tamworth is nearest, with a short taxi or bus connection (~10–15 min); the park is not within comfortable walking distance of the station.

🕐 Entry & times

10:00am–9:00pm daily, 20 Oct–1 Nov 2026. A valid ticket for your chosen date admits you for the day. Scare mazes are queue-based on the day; a paid Fast Track may be available — check the official park site.

Code of conduct

Prohibited at all events: real or imitation weapons, full-face masks that prevent ID checks, and glass containers. Costumes are welcome within those limits. Security searches may be carried out on entry. Abusive or threatening behaviour, or failure to follow venue instructions, means removal without a refund.

Content note: This is a family-friendly event throughout, with no scare mazes or jump-scare attractions — the closest thing to a fright is the gentle Haunted Express ghost train. Fireworks displays on selected nights involve loud noise, which may not suit those with noise sensitivity or very young children. Good for: Midlands and Birmingham-based families · Younger children and Thomas Land fans · Value-conscious visitors · Anyone wanting fireworks as part of their Halloween visit
