About this
Event Description
Gentle, family-first Halloween fun at Chessington World of Adventures — rides at dusk, live shows, a trick-or-treat trail, plus the zoo and SEA LIFE aquarium. All ages, 20 Oct–1 Nov 2026.
- Format: Gentle, family-first Halloween fun — rides at dusk, seasonal live shows, a costume contest, a trick-or-treat trail, plus the Zoo and SEA LIFE aquarium included in every ticket.
- No intense scare mazes — this event is designed for families and younger children.
- Enchanted Hollow: Trick or Treat is an optional extra-ticket experience.
- Getting around: the park is largely flat and accessible; scare mazes are generally not wheelchair accessible.
Chessington World of Adventures is Britain’s only combined theme park, zoo, and SEA LIFE aquarium — home to over 1,000 animals across 128 acres — and every October it puts on Howl’o’ween, one of the most genuinely family-friendly Halloween events in the country. Rather than leaning into scares, Chessington focuses on spellbinding live shows, a costume contest with resident characters Wilf the Werewolf and Violet the Vampire Bat, and Enchanted Hollow — a whimsical underground trick-or-treat village. It’s an easy 35-minute direct train from London Waterloo.
Why you should book this
This is the gentlest theme park Halloween event in this collection by a clear margin, and one of very few that combines a full theme park with a genuine zoo and aquarium in one ticket. For families with children too young for scare mazes, this is the natural choice — and the direct 35-minute train from Waterloo makes it an easy no-car day trip from London.
What you’ll experience
- Enchanted Hollow: Trick or Treat — a whimsical underground village where children knock on doors for treats from friendly animal characters (optional extra ticket)
- Spelltacular! and Rising Flame: Shadows of the Tomb — seasonal live shows with audience interaction, pyrotechnics, and dance
- Halloween costume contest — hosted by Wilf the Werewolf and Violet the Vampire Bat at the Mini Stage, with a daily prize
- Rides at dusk — the park’s rollercoasters and family rides take on a seasonal, atmospheric twist
- The Zoo & SEA LIFE Aquarium — full access to over 1,000 animals, included in every ticket

🚗 Getting there & parking
By car: on-site parking (a parking fee typically applies — check current rates). Allow 5–10 minutes to walk from the car park. By train: Chessington South is a direct 35-minute train from London Waterloo, within easy walking distance of the entrance (approx. 10–15 min) or a short shuttle on busier days.
🕐 Entry & times
10:00am–9:00pm daily, 20 Oct–1 Nov 2026. A valid ticket for your chosen date admits you for the day. Scare mazes are queue-based on the day; a paid Fast Track may be available — check the official park site.
⚠ Code of conduct
Prohibited at all events: real or imitation weapons, full-face masks that prevent ID checks, and glass containers. Costumes are welcome within those limits. Security searches may be carried out on entry. Abusive or threatening behaviour, or failure to follow venue instructions, means removal without a refund.
Content note: This event is deliberately low-scare and suitable for young children throughout. There are no scare mazes or jump-scare attractions — the closest thing is atmospheric, character-led entertainment rather than horror content. Good for: Young families · London-based visitors without a car · Animal lovers · Anyone wanting a genuinely gentle Halloween day out
