These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern all ticket purchases and attendance at the Halloween events listed on this website (the “Events”), operated by Halloween Nights Fear (“we”, “us”, “our”). By purchasing a ticket or attending an Event, you (“you”, “the guest”) agree to be bound by these Terms.

01 About these events

1.1 This website lists two categories of Halloween event, each covered differently by these Terms:

• 20 City Events. Horror houses, ghost hunts, maze runners, immersive trails and one evening party, each hosted at a named landmark in 20 UK cities. These run daily from 20 October to 1 November 2026, gates open 4:00pm to 12:00am (Brighton’s Royal Pavilion event runs 4:00pm to 1:00am). These tickets are sold directly through this website and these Terms apply in full.
• 5 Theme Park Events. Independently-operated Halloween events at Thorpe Park, Alton Towers, Chessington World of Adventures, LEGOLAND Windsor and Drayton Manor. These are run by their respective theme park companies, not by us. Where this site provides information or links for them, it’s for guidance only — your contract for those tickets is with the theme park operator directly, under their own terms. Dates, hours and prices shown here for them are indicative; always confirm on the official park website before booking.

1.2 References to “the Event” or “Events” mean the 20 City Events unless stated otherwise.

1.3 Every City Event is set at a genuine historic landmark. Some elements described in listings (specific horror-walk content, live line-ups, market stalls and similar seasonal additions) are subject to final confirmation with each venue and may be amended, substituted or withdrawn before the date. We’ll make reasonable efforts to notify ticket holders of any material change (see Section 11).

02 Tickets & booking

2.1 Ticket structure. Each City Event ticket includes (a) one timed, capacity-limited slot in the headline experience (the horror walk, maze run, ghost hunt or equivalent) and (b) unrestricted access to the surrounding evening event (food and drink village, live entertainment, markets and similar) for the rest of that day’s opening hours.

2.2 Ticket price. Prices for the 20 City Events range from £25.00 to £30.00 per person, as shown on each event’s page. Prices shown for the 5 Theme Park Events are indicative only; the actual price is set by the relevant park at the time of booking with them.

2.3 Booking confirmation. On completing your purchase you’ll receive an email confirmation and an electronic ticket (QR code or barcode), which must be presented — printed or on a mobile device — at the entrance for scanning.

2.4 Accuracy. Please check your confirmation (date, time slot, event, quantity) as soon as you receive it and tell us promptly of any error.

2.5 Age declaration. Booking requires you to confirm you’ve read and understood the age and guardian policy in Section 3 for everyone in your party, including any under-18s.

2.6 Group & private bookings. Several events offer a private/group option once a minimum group size is reached (typically 6–12 people). Group bookings are subject to availability and may carry a different cancellation policy — see the event’s Booking Info section.

2.7 Resale. Tickets may not be resold above face value or transferred for commercial purposes. We may cancel, without refund, any ticket identified as resold in breach of this clause.

03 Age policy & guardian requirements

3.1 All 20 City Events are open to guests of any age. There is no minimum age for entry.

3.2 Under-18s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times during the event, including during the timed headline experience.

3.3 Event-specific guardian considerations. Some events involve content or conditions a guardian should weigh up before bringing a younger attendee. These are flagged on the relevant event page and include, without limitation:

• Confined, low-lit or physically demanding settings — the Williamson Tunnels (Liverpool), Victoria Tunnel (Newcastle), Armley Mills (Leeds) and Beckford’s Tower’s 154-step staircase (Bath) may not suit very young children or those with mobility or breathing difficulties.
• Licensed bar / late finish — the Royal Pavilion Midnight Masquerade (Brighton) runs to 1:00am with a licensed bar. Under-18s won’t be served alcohol under any circumstances, and this event best suits older teenagers with a guardian rather than young children.
• Age-restricted add-ons within an all-ages event — the whisky and folklore tasting at Greyfriars (Edinburgh) is 18+ for the tasting (a soft-drink alternative is available); Bristol’s Smuggler’s Bar likewise serves alcohol to 18+ only.
• Sensitive historical content — Whitby’s Pannett Park event displays a real historical artefact incorporating human remains, handled respectfully and clearly signposted; Bristol’s Redcliffe Caves event addresses the venue’s real history connected to the transatlantic slave trade with care and factual context. Guardians may wish to review the Content Note first.

3.4 ID checks. We or venue staff may request proof of age for anyone buying or consuming alcohol. Entry to alcohol service may be refused without satisfactory proof of age.

3.5 Nothing in this Section removes a guardian’s own responsibility for deciding whether an event is suitable for a child in their care. We recommend reviewing the full Content Note before booking if you’re attending with children.

04 Entry requirements

4.1 Valid ticket. Entry to a timed headline experience requires a valid, scanned ticket for that specific date and slot. Entry to the general evening event requires a valid ticket for that date, up to the stated last-entry time.

4.2 Late arrival. If you arrive after your booked slot, we’ll make reasonable efforts to fit you into a later slot subject to availability, but can’t guarantee it. No refund is due for late arrival within your control.

4.3 Right of admission. We and venue staff/security may refuse entry to, or remove, any person without refund where reasonably necessary for safety, security or others’ enjoyment — including intoxication, aggressive behaviour, or failure to follow venue instructions.

4.4 Search. Security searches may be carried out on entry. Entry may be refused to anyone declining a reasonable search request.

05 Event times & access

5.1 Standard hours. Unless stated otherwise on the event page, all 20 City Events run daily 4:00pm–12:00am (midnight), 20 October to 1 November 2026. The Royal Pavilion Midnight Masquerade (Brighton) runs 4:00pm–1:00am.

5.2 Headline last entry. Each event has its own last-entry time for the timed headline experience (from 9:00pm to 10:30pm depending on the event). The wider evening event stays open until the stated closing time regardless.

5.3 Schedule accuracy. Times for individual activities (live sets, talks, workshops, market opening) are published in good faith on each event’s Evening Schedule and may vary slightly on the night due to factors outside our control.

06 Health, safety & accessibility

6.1 General safety notice. Several events take place at genuine historic venues with original, unmodified features — narrow spiral staircases, uneven stone or gravel floors, low doorways, confined underground spaces, and outdoor sections exposed to the weather. Full details are in each event’s Facilities and Content Note. You attend at your own risk in relation to these inherent venue characteristics, save to the extent we or the venue are negligent.

6.2 Wheelchair & mobility access. Accessibility varies significantly by event and is stated on each event page. Several headline experiences (tower staircases, tunnel descents, original castle stairs) are not wheelchair accessible, though the surrounding grounds are usually more accessible. Review the Facilities section or contact us in advance for guidance.

6.3 Photosensitive epilepsy & startle content. Several experiences include strobe lighting, fog, loud sudden noise and jump scares, flagged in each Content Note. Anyone with photosensitive epilepsy, a heart condition or a significant startle-related concern should review the relevant note carefully before booking.

6.4 Compulsory safety equipment. Hard hats and/or torches are compulsory and provided free at any event with an underground or confined-space section (currently Liverpool’s Williamson Tunnels, Newcastle’s Victoria Tunnel and Leeds’ Armley Mills). Entry to those experiences is refused to anyone declining the equipment.

6.5 Weather-dependent sections. Some outdoor sections may be shortened or adjusted in severe weather while the main event continues. This alone does not entitle you to a refund unless the whole date is cancelled (see Section 12).

6.6 Open flame & fire effects. Some events include live open flame (forge demonstrations, fire pits, fire performers). Anyone with a fire-related phobia should review the relevant Content Note in advance.

6.7 First aid. A qualified first-aider is present on site at every event for its full duration.

07 Alcohol & licensed bars

7.1 Several events include a licensed bar or tasting activity (including Brighton’s Royal Pavilion, Bristol’s Smuggler’s Bar and Edinburgh’s whisky tasting). Alcohol is served only to guests aged 18 or over who can provide valid proof of age on request.

7.2 Please drink responsibly. We may refuse further service, or remove any guest without refund, where reasonably necessary due to intoxication or related behaviour.

7.3 Under-18s attending an event with a licensed bar must remain supervised by their guardian at all times and will not be served alcohol under any circumstances.

08 Prohibited items & conduct

8.1 The following are prohibited at all events unless expressly stated otherwise on the event page: imitation or real weapons of any kind; full-face masks that prevent identification (costume masks that can be lifted for ID checks are generally acceptable — check the event’s dress code); glass containers; and any item reasonably deemed unsafe by staff or security.

8.2 Costumes and fancy dress are welcomed and often encouraged (see individual pages), but must not include anything covered by 8.1.

8.3 We may confiscate prohibited items at entry. Confiscated items are held at the guest’s own risk and may not be returned.

8.4 Abusive, threatening or dangerous behaviour towards staff, performers or other guests results in removal without refund and may be reported to the police.

09 Photography & filming

9.1 Photography for personal, non-commercial use is generally permitted, except where expressly restricted (for example, no flash inside certain catacomb or vault sections, as stated on the event page).

9.2 We or the venue may carry out photography or filming for marketing during the event. By attending, you consent to the possibility of appearing in such incidental footage, unless you’ve specifically requested otherwise in advance in writing.

10 Weather & force majeure

10.1 Most events include an outdoor component and generally proceed in all reasonable weather. Only where severe weather poses a genuine safety risk (as determined by us or the venue) will an outdoor section be shortened, relocated, or the full event cancelled for that date.

10.2 We are not liable for any failure or delay caused by events outside our reasonable control, including severe weather, fire, flood, strikes, venue unavailability, government restrictions or public health emergencies (“Force Majeure Events”). Where a Force Majeure Event cancels an entire date, the refund provisions in Section 12 apply.

11 Changes & cancellations by us

11.1 We may make reasonable changes to event content, timings, performers or specific activities where necessary (venue requirements, performer availability, safety). Minor changes of this kind do not entitle you to a refund.

11.2 If we cancel an entire date, or make a change so significant that the event is materially different from what was advertised (for example, the headline timed experience being withdrawn entirely for that date), we’ll offer you, at our discretion, either (a) transfer to an alternative date, subject to availability, at no extra cost, or (b) a full refund under Section 12.

11.3 Some events are hosted at working sites (for example a working college’s cloisters) which may occasionally require short-notice rescheduling for reasons connected to the venue’s primary use. Affected ticket holders will be offered an alternative date or a full refund.

12 Refunds & cancellations

12.1 Each event has its own refund window before your booked date, reflecting how far ahead we confirm final numbers with each venue. The windows range from fully refundable up to 24 hours before, through 24-, 48- and 72-hour windows, to 7 days for the Brighton masquerade. The full breakdown, together with how to request a refund and how refunds are processed, is set out in our Refunds & Cancellations policy, which forms part of these Terms.

12.2 If we cancel your date due to severe weather or another Force Majeure Event, you’re entitled to a full refund regardless of how close to the date it occurs.

12.3 Optional paid add-ons (whisky flights, tarot readings and similar) are non-refundable once used and are not covered by the ticket refund windows.

12.4 Refund and cancellation policies for the 5 Theme Park Events are set by the relevant park operator, not by us. Refer to the official park website before booking.

13 Liability

13.1 Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under English law.

13.2 Subject to 13.1, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss (including loss of enjoyment, travel costs or the cost of alternative arrangements) arising from a cancelled or changed event, beyond the refund remedies in Sections 11 and 12.

13.3 We are not liable for the acts or omissions of third-party venue owners, performers or contractors engaged to deliver elements of an event, except to the extent required by law.

13.4 You are responsible for your own health and safety in relation to the inherent physical characteristics of each venue (see Section 6), and for assessing whether an event is suitable for yourself or those in your care.

14 Data protection

14.1 We process personal data collected at booking (name, contact details, payment information) in line with our Privacy Policy, UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

14.2 Where a booking includes details of attendees under 18 (for example a headcount of children in your party), this information is used solely for capacity and safety planning and is kept only as long as necessary for that purpose.

15 General

15.1 Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

15.2 Severability. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.

15.3 Changes to these Terms. We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in force when you complete your booking applies to that booking.
